Benefits:

In an era in which policing is becoming devolved to local levels, officers and civilian employees face increased responsibilities for managing staff and resources, devising and implementing policing plans, accounting for budgets, and a host of other administrative duties. These tasks require skills and knowledge that have not been traditional components of police training courses. Equally, other management courses tend to focus on issues relevant to the private sector and do not take into account the public service dimensions that are central to policing. Leadership courses like the MSc Police Leadership and Management programme bridges the gap between the principles and requirements of policing as a public service and the techniques and principles of contemporary management and leadership.
